In New York State, more adults and children are walking, bicycling and in-line skating. To be as safe as possible, pedestrians, bicyclists and in-line skaters should be familiar with the sections of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law that apply to them. These are the rules of the road for pedestrians, bicyclists and in-line skaters on public highways and paths. Motorists also are reminded to obey the law and to share the road with pedestrians, bicyclists and in-line skaters.
